Welcome to Jill Elliot Yoga, where each class is a transformative experience designed to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.  With twenty years of personal Yoga practice and over five years of teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my teaching, creating a unique blend of traditional and innovative practices that cater to yogis of all levels

My journey into yoga began over twenty years ago and since then I’ve continuously expanded my knowledge and expertise.  I’m a seasoned yoga instructor with extensive training and certifications in various yoga and movement disciplines: Hatha Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga and Restorative Yoga, and I’ve worked extensively with Clinical Somatics.  My comprehensive background ensures that each of my Yoga sessions is rooted in a deep understanding of anatomy, movement and mindfulness  

My classes are a sanctuary where you can explore your yoga practice in a supportive and nurturing environment. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, my holistic approach will guide you towards greater health, harmony, and inner peace

Influences & Teaching Philosophy

My Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga and Restorative Yoga classes are profoundly influenced by a variety of methodologies and philosophies, creating a rich and diverse practice environment:

  • Natural Movement: my classes encourage functional, everyday movements that promote strength, flexibility, and resilience

  • Clinical Somatics: I incorporate techniques from Clinical Somatics to enhance body awareness and improve overall movement patterns

  • Biomechamics: drawing on the teachings of biomechanist Katy Bowman, my classes are grounded in anatomical movement as this focus helps my yogis understand how their bodies are designed to move and how they use their body, leading to improved postural alignment and increased ease of movement in their bodies

  • Peter Blackaby: my philosophy is also shaped by Peter Blackaby’s humanistic approach to yoga, which prioritises comfort, sustainability and the individual needs of each yogi. This perspective ensures a compassionate and adaptive practice
